Hema Bharadwaj has been exploring inner spaces via her fluid watercolors. She is an alumni of Sir JJ Institute of Art, Mumbai, and School of Visual Arts, New York. Hema discovered a deep love for watercolors when she had to paint at her kitchen island while managing her home and family. Water based, easy to clean up, meditative, and immensely versatile, watercolors soon became her primary medium. She developed her abstract expressionist watercolor style, focused on energetic strokes, rich in detail, color and texture. She enjoys teaching and facilitating art immensely. She does a vast variety of demos, helps students individually achieve their goals, encourages and supports unique styles and offers a range of techniques. She has been teaching at the Arts Council of Princeton for several semesters. Her own studio practice leans into abstraction.
