Description

Become familiar with the tools, materials and tricks of the book binding trade! Explore contemporary bookbinding to create multiple book structures for highly personalized soft and hardcover books—ideal for journals, sketchbooks and artist books. Every artist will leave with beautiful handmade books, and all the knowledge needed to explore binding in their own work. Beginners welcome and encouraged! All bookbinding materials provided.

Instructor

Dave DiMarchi is a queer multi-disciplinary printmaker and teaching artist working in letterpress, papermaking, silkscreen and book forms. He received his BFA in Printmaking and Books from the University of Delaware and has continued to teach and study across the New York, New Jersey and Pennsylvania area for the past 15 years. He maintains a small collaborative studio and art space in New Hope, PA working closely with artists to master artmaking techniques and instruction. He is also the owner or 9INHANDPRESS, a pre-press graphic design studio concentrating on unique, hand-built graphics, typography and illustration, and the host of the annual global 9INHANDPRESS International Print Exchange.
