Week 6: Lights, Camera Action - Claymation Animation [Virtual Camp]

Week 6: Lights, Camera Action - Claymation Animation [Virtual Camp]
Ages: 10 yrs. to 12 yrs.

Combine the art of colorful clay sculpture with stop-motion film to make fun and engaging videos. Spend the morning creating fantasy characters, scenery and scripts with teaching artists Mary Wartenburg and Gwen Sylvan. Capture the action with your own phone or tablet using the free app called Stop Motion Studio. We will help you edit and add sound to produce your own movie. Due to popular demand, this online camp will be offered twice - in the morning from 10-12pm and the afternoon from 1-3pm.

Tech Requirements: Wifi, a computer or other device with a built in camera. Students will receive an email with instructions by Friday of the previous week.

Materials: An art kit will be available for pick up with basic clay colors and a few tools - included for all those who register by Wednesday of the previous week. This will also include a journal containing all the handouts, directions, and information campers should need for the week.  More supplies may be needed, and Instuctors will provide that information prior to the Camp session. Art kits cannot be shipped and must be picked up at ACP.  In addition campers should have access to a smartphone, iphone or laptop, in order to participate. If you are unable to pick up an art kit, please email education@artscouncilofprinceton.org and we will email you a list of supplies.
