Step right up! Explore the world of the circus through famous artists and then become a part of the show! In the morning, campers will study artists who have been inspired by the circus, from Toulouse-Lautrec to Renoir and Picasso, and even create your own Alexander Calder inspired miniature circus. In the afternoon practice an array of circus arts elements including: prop-work (movement with hula hoops and flower sticks), juggling objects, acrobatic movement, team pyramid building and choreography. Students will work together as a team to create their own group circus performance, which they will present to family and friends at the end of this specialty week. Beginners welcome! Campers in this session should be ready to move and enjoy light exercise (shorts or pants preferred).
