|Ages: 10 yrs. to 14 yrs.|
This program will lead students through an investigation of various hands-on art activities, combined with art history by examining periods, styles, masters, and techniques. Begin with the study of drawing, using a variety of media such as carbon and charcoal. Learn techniques such as shading, perspective and proportion and employ them in both the sketched and finished drawing. Discover the importance of drawing to artistic development with examples of work from the great masters. Students will then continue their studies with painting, using a variety of media such as acrylics and watercolors. Along with the proper care and use of the materials, students will learn color theory and design elements to create work from life and imagination. Enjoy painting on different surfaces such as stretched canvas and paper! Materials included.
