Week 4: Figure Drawing & Painting [In Person]

Week 4: Figure Drawing & Painting [In Person]
Ages: 12 yrs. to 16 yrs.

This two-part intensive week is focused on 2D portraiture and figure studies. The first session will be dedicated to learning and practicing techniques to render anatomy in 2D. Participants will study the underlying skeletal structure of the human figure. They will learn gesture, proportion, and anatomy. Examining the work of classicism to more recent works of the 20th century, artists will learn a full-range of possible figural expressions for consideration and develop the technical and self-critical skills to successfully shape their work and achieve volume in their figurative forms as they gain an understanding of the human portrait and figure.
