Week 2: Drawing & Painting Studio Basics through Art History [In Person]
Ages: 13 yrs. to 16 yrs.

In this weeklong intensive studio, learn how to take your art beyond the basic line and transform your renderings into visually striking images. During this week, we will study concepts such as form, value, light, shadow and color and how to apply these concepts through still life, portraits and illustration. Get acquainted with a range of drawing materials such as pencil, charcoal and pastel, and explore acrylic painting and watercolor as well in this immersive week of art-making. Throughout the week we will look at the work of artists throughout history to drive home concepts and from which to draw inspiration. 

Class Schedule

9:30-12:30pm: Instruction

12:30-1:15pm: Unsupervised lunch offsite

1:15-4:15pm: Instruction & Open Studio Time
