Join teaching artist Andres Duque in an introduction to drawing. Mr. Duque will guide students in an exploration of drawing, and of looking at the value of space in creating compositions using pencil, charcoal and pastel.The class will develop a process of line drawing, perspective and observation skills where our participants will begin to see the world with new eyes.
Please bring a drawing pad, at least 9x12, a kneadable eraser, and a set of sketch pencils (6H to 6B).
About the Instructor: Andres Duque studied Fine Arts at Los Andes University in Bogota with a Minor in Anthropology. Studied Italian art and history at Florence University. Completed an Anthropology Post Baccalaureate at California State University in Bakersfield and earned a Masters in Fine Arts in Film, Video and New media at the School of the Art Institute of Chicago. Has been teaching visual arts, architecture and film at the Arts Council of Princeton for seven years. Currently teaches art at Stuart in Princeton and develops cultural projects including gallery exhibits.
