This new course is designed to teach those who have always wanted to learn the fundamentals of acrylic painting, as well as those painters looking to take it to the next level. In this class, the basic principles of color theory, composition, tone and value will be addressed. Starting with practical limited-palette exercises and moving through the fundamentals of color mixing, students will use a variety of subject matter (still life, landscape, photo references) to establish a solid foundation for future exploration. Students will work at their own pace and will be provided individualized guidance by the instructor, when needed.
Supplies: Please bring acrylic paint (a student set is fine), paintbrushes, and canvas or canvas paper to the first class.
