If your favorite pair of pants are looking a little worn or moths have eaten a hole in your sweater – learn how to turn these flaws into a work of art! Visible mending stems from “Sashiko” - a Japanese mending technique traditionally involving a running stitch and geometric patterns.  Breathe a new lease of life into worn items of clothing and create something beautiful. No embroidery or sewing experience needed. Please bring an item of clothing to mend.  A range of embroidery thread will be available to use during the class but feel free to bring your own.

About the Instructor: Kathleen Gittleman, former owner of Pins and Needles, has been sewing clothing since her first semi-successful hot pink sleeveless shift in middle school.  Frustration with not being able to find the patterns she wanted led to experimenting with pattern making which she's excited to share with you!
