Approval of instructor required for this intermediate class. Try your hand at the potter's wheel! This class will enable students to get a taste for clay, learning about the materials and basic beginner wheel techniques to get started. Daily demonstrations, and hands on instruction for the beginner will be the focus. Registration in a ceramics class includes a $25 materials fee for the following: 1 bag of clay; 5 firing cards which includes 10 firings (one bisque, one glaze), use of studio slips, oxides, glazes and the studio during open studio hours.
This class will be taught using social distancing measures. Students will be asked to stay at least 6 feet apart from the instructor and other students at all times. About the Instructor: Meghan Blair graduated from New York Institute of Technology, where she received a BA in English and culture. She has studied ceramics as a student at Texas A&M International. Meghan has continued her studies at the ACP where she has been an active volunteer for the past five years, assisting with ceramics classes and studio operations.
